The North American Reformed Seminary

Outstanding, rigorous, and reputable seminary level Reformed education opportunity available completely online and free of charge. They offer degree programs in theology and ministry including professional (Masters) and doctorate level degrees. Although they are not accredited, they are endorsed by such reputable and well known Christian scholars as John M. Frame and Kenneth L. Gentry Jr., and their graduates are recognized by the Presbyterian Church in America and Orthodox Presbyterian Church denominations. I think that this institution is an exciting opportunity for Reformed Baptists seeking a solid education to prepare them for ministry but who cannot afford traditional seminary and cannot attend a campus based seminary.

IIIM Seminary Curriculum

Third Millennium Ministries is developing seminary level Reformed lesson curriculum corresponding to a 27-credit certificate curriculum, a 54-credit M.A. curriculum, and a 67.5-credit M.Div. academic core curriculum. Dimensions of the Faith

Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary has developed this free seminary level online theological education program designed to give a firm foundational knowlege of the Christian faith. Upon completion of the program, the seminary awards students with a written certificate. This program is not Reformed but is thoroughly evangelical.

Online & Distance Learning Courses

Reformed Baptist Seminary

Along with the professional 91 credit Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree, Reformed Baptist Seminary offers a Bachelor of Divinity (B.Div.) degree which is identical to the Masters degree but is awarded to students who have not completed a prior bachelors degree. The school also offers three shorter "Marrow of Theology" programs designed for lay ministry. The 32 credit Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) and Diploma of Theological Studies (D.T.S.) may be pursued in four emphasis: Exegetical Theology, Historical Theology, Systematic Theology and Practical Theology. The M.T.S. requires that the student has completed at least a baccalaureate degree prior to enrollment. A Certificate in Theological Studies (C.T.S.) program is also available designed to provide training for pastors in the foreign mission field. All of RBS's programs may be completed via distance learning, and many classes are becoming available online through their virtual campus. RBS is one of the least expensive distance education opportunities.

Whitefield is a well established and respected distance learning institution providing quality education for over 25 years. Although they are not secularly accredited, with an alumni of the caliber of R.C. Sproul they are well respected and recognized for acedemic excellence. They offer a wide array of acedemic and professional degree programs, along with some lay study opportunities and post graduate (doctorate) degrees.

Whitefield College is an undergraduate degree institution operating under the auspices of Whitefield Theological Seminary. As with the seminary, the college is committed to acedemic excellence and solidly Reformed Christian foundations. They offer Associate and Bachelor of Arts degrees that are completed in there entirety through distance education, for a fraction of the cost of secularly accredited institutions.

The Master of Arts (Religion) degree program may be mostly completed part time through their virtual campus, with students required to attend two 4 day on campus seminars worth 6 credit hours. RTS also has several 30 credit hour certificate programs in Biblical Studies, Disability Ministry, General Studies, Historical Studies, Missions, and Theological Studies that may be completed through their virtual campus.

Wittenberg Reformed Theological Seminary

Wittenberg is a non-accredited institution offering a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree that is completed through distance learning. Students who enroll without a prior bachelors degree can still be awarded the degree with an asterisk (M.Div.*) The institution is currently evaluating accreditation through one of the theological accrediting institutions. WRTS is much less expensive than accredited institutions and appears to offer an excellent curriculum.

Northwestern College

Northwestern College offers an Associate of Arts and Bible and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, both through distance learning. The programs are expensive, but as an accredited institution financial aid is available. An evangelical institution, their statement of faith can be found here.

Dallas Baptist University

Dallas Baptist University offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs through distance learning. As a fully accredited institution, financial aid is available, and good thing, as this an exceedingly expensive institution with costs in excess of $600 per credit hour for online courses! It is an evangelical institution, but I would reccomend one of the solidly Reformed institutions for anything above the bachelor degree.
